I wonder how the Met got their hands on it and what’s the story behind the RHD.

(I’m assuming it’s not sold in UK) I’m sure they make it for some RHD market like South America or something.

I’m amazed that this is a 2002, certainly doesn’t look like it. Just 70 000 miles on the clock tho, that’s cool. Liking the 6l diesel as well.

Why do you hate FREEDOM?
(Am I doing this right?)

It’d be a 6.5L diesel. It was a bad engine.

Someone ran the plates and it appears to be a 2002. IIRC the GMT400 continued on for fleet use in some markets.

It also had some issues with windshield washers in August. It’s taxed until June and the inspection’s valid until mid August.

Looks like a street sign, but I’m not expert.

It’s probably not an ‘02, rather that’s the date of first registration. Looks like a early 90's Silverado.

It’s a big dose of freedom, ya limey Brit.

It’s an early armoured car from Jankel.
Shortly after this Chevy they started using Ford F150s as a base vehicle and the Met Police have quite a few of them to deal with all sorts of major incidents.
At the time of the Chevy many came to the U.K. as armoured cars but also as ambulances. The North East of England had at least two, one is still going as far as I’m aware even though they are very unreliable.

South America can into RHD? I think not.

Whatever it is, it’s been properly set up for RHD with RHD wipers. Unlike many recent BMWs.

Well, Guyana and Suriname both drive on the left! (which does not mean that GM would develop a RHD version just for those, of course. Just being facetious.)
On the other hand, Argentina did not switch to LHD until 1945. British influence (and its industrial and economic presence) was huge until WW2.
